Let’s Talk Denim – Finding The Right Pair

Finding the right pair of jeans can be a frustrating experience at times. With so many different styles and fits, what looks the best? What is currently trending? Well I’ll give you readers some good options, without breaking the bank. When looking for jeans, we want something that will last and fits our body. I will mainly focus on jeans that are either straight leg or slightly baggy as I believe they compliment your outfit the most. The first brand I’d like to highlight is L.L. Bean.

L.L. Beans jeans are 100% heavyweight cotton, and come in a variety of fits. In my opinion the Double L jeans, Natural Fit, Straight Leg jean as shown above is my personal favorite. Coming in at 69.95, it a very affordable price compared to brands such as Levis which typically range in the $80-$100. If you are looking for a comfortable, straight leg look, this is going to be your best bet. It goes with everything, and you can wear it with a button up shirt for a bit of a nicer look or just a relaxed sweater. You can also go down to a 28 or 29 inch inseam which is a plus for anybody on the shorter side. Next up we have GAP.

GAP is our next affordable option on the list, and I’d recommend going with the relaxed straight trouser. It’s not too baggy, but wont hug your thighs either and gives you plenty of room to work with. Coming in at $79.95 retail, these are a bit more expensive than L.L. Bean but under $100 and are currently on sale. This comes in a variety of colors as well, but just 2-3 pairs allows you to curate outfits for every day of the week. My last recommendation is going to be Abercrombie.

My personal choice from them is going to be the baggy jean coming in at $90. Still staying under $100 and coming in the biggest variety of colors so far, this is a versatile option that will sit nicely over boots, but also pair well with loafers or white sneakers with a slight stack at the ankle.

While I can recommend these brands and styles, not everything will match every ones body type. The most important factor is actually trying on different pairs. Proportions are important for the best look, and a jean that sits right at your ankle and slightly covers the shoe, or sits on the shoe with a slight stack are going to be perfect when it comes to length. You want a waist that isn’t too tight to where you can’t button it, but also isn’t sagging in the butt area. You want to be able to tuck it in and have it feel fitted but comfortable around the waist, butt and thighs. Then give yourself a little room in the legs with a classic or straight style and you are golden.
